Floyd Sword

Floyd Sword has been practicing martial arts for over 20 years. Mr. Sword trained at numerous prestigious Jiu-Jitsu and Kick-Boxing academies before settling in as a member of Greg Jackson's world famous Jackson MMA in 2000. Since then he has achieved his black belt under Mr. Jackson. Mr. Sword has trained four other world champions in his gym.

What should I wear to my first class?

Here are some tips for what to wear to your first martial arts class:

Make sure to bring a mouth guard (will not be able to participate without one)

Avoid wearing loose or baggy clothing,(Rash guard or tight clothing is recommended)

DO NOT any clothing that have zippers, or pockets.

If you have any concerns about what to wear, ask your instructor for advice.

Is MMA safe for beginners?

Yes, MMA can be safe for beginners when taught by experienced instructors in a controlled environment. At Jackson's Four Corners MMA, safety is our top priority. We start with fundamental techniques, emphasize proper form, and ensure a gradual progression as you build skills. With the right guidance and respect for your training partners, MMA can be a safe and enjoyable for all skill levels.

How often should I train to see progress?

The frequency of your training depends on your goals and availability. To see consistent progress, we recommend starting with 2-4 classes per week. This allows you to develop a solid foundation. As you advance, you might choose to train more frequently. Remember, consistency and dedication are key to improving, so find a schedule that works for you and stick with it.
